The Hooter!

For many, this will be a minor post, but for me it was important.

The hooter on my Honda CM125C had long ago been painted black and was completely the wrong design for the bike and to make it fit, had a second mounting bracket which angled it backwards towards the rider rather than forwards towards oncoming death and serious injury. I decided when I first dismantled this area of the bike I was going for something shiny.

The Old Hooter

Could probably have spent a small fortune on something heavily chromed but went for something very simple. Bought new from my old friend eBay. I had to adjust the mounting bracket sightly to get it to fit. The Honda mount is intended for a two-hole mounting bracket and the one I bought had a single hole (my mistake). I drilled a second hole in the bracket and protected the edges from rust with a bit of paint and a dab of grease. Used a nice new stainless steel bolt to attach it. Popped the wires on for a quick test and….

….err! Goodness its loud in a confined space. Just what is required.

New hooter shown below. I love shiny bits.

I will get back to forks soon, honest!
